Project 2: Goldenacre Small Garden

The clients wanted to make ‘more’ of their garden space but were not quite sure how to go about it.

Although north facing, the sun followed the edge of the garden from east to west.

Most important to the clients was to be able to sit and enjoy the sun for as much of the day as possible.

The design proposes decking and paved areas in the east- west corners around a generous, central planting area – creating day long sunny areas to sit.

Paths connect the seating areas, allowing circulation through the space. Western Red Cedar is used to clad the existing fence and form the decking area.

The image shows the design just after construction, before planting has gone in.
