The clients wished to create an interesting space from the L-shaped garden. Keen gardeners, there were to be areas for plants, plus a
conservatory, and a shed – requiring the design to maximise the use of space.
The garden received plenty of sun which the clients were keen to make the most of.
The sloping aspect of the site was addressed by installing raised beds. This levelled the ground where more planting beds gave shape, and an additional layer of interest. The wall of the garage was trellised with a stainless steel wire grid; roses & scented climbers were trained against it. A pergola sat outside the patio doors framing the view of garden from the kitchen. A stepping stone path lead from the kitchen door to the back gate – a regular route taken by the clients.
